Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation

For good. For ever.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

Darlene Bond Memorial Youth Fund

Darlene Bond and her husband Terry have been members of the Mt. Pleasant community for many years, where they raised their two children. Darlene’s family was her pride and joy. Her children are Chis and Kristin Bond of Edenville, and Eric and Kelley Borodychuk of Mt. Pleasant. Her grandchildren are Sydney and Nicholas Bond, and Kyle and Logan Borodychuk.

Darlene was the secretary at Fancher Elementary and loved the children and staff with whom she spent many years working. With a thoughtful and compassionate nature, she was always reaching out to do things for others.

Darlene and Terry Bond

Darlene battled breast cancer for more than two years. Before her death on January 31, 2006, she received money and decided to give it to charity. Terry Bond, his children and grandchildren established the Darlene Bond Memorial Youth Fund as a memorial to their loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Memorial contributions from the family and community helped to create a fund that will provide grants to charitable organizations for projects, programs or events that benefit the youth of Isabella County.
