Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Fund
The Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship to a freshman, sophomore or junior at Mt. Pleasant High School for the purpose of participating in the CMU wrestling camp. The student must be dedicated and enthusiastic about the sport of wrestling and his team.
In September of 1990, Chris Maniteau passed away. Christopher, who was a student at Mt. Pleasant High School, loved to wrestle and was talented at the sport. His family wanted a wrestler to benefit, as Chris did, by attending the CMU wrestling camp. The family has been awarding a scholarship to a high school wrestler since 1991 and, in 2004, established the Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Scholarship Fund.
Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Scholarship Criteria:
- Recipient(s) will be a freshman, sophomore, or junior at Mt. Pleasant High School, recommended by the wrestling coach to participate in CMU Summer Overnight Wrestling Camp.
- The student(s) will be dedicated and enthusiastic about the sport and their team, and show the ability to excel to their full potential.
- The student(s) strive for teamwork and demonstrates a strong interest to attend the camp.
This fund is currently growing and will award scholarships in the future!
