The Earl G. Hartman, Sr. & Caroline Millar Hartman Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship to a graduating senior from Sacred Heart Academy in memory and in honor of Earl G. Hartman, Sr. and Caroline Millar Hartman for their generosity, guidance and inspiration.

Earl and Caroline were faithful supporters of their community and their church. Each started from poor beginnings, Earl in New Bremen, Ohio and Caroline in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Caroline moved 21 times before she was 14 years old and eventually settled in Mt. Pleasant. Earl came to Mt. Pleasant with the oil boom and he quickly became involved in the community, a lifetime commitment.

2008 Scholarship Award: $2,500

Eligibility Criteria: 

• Applicant will be a graduating senior of Sacred Heart Academy.
• Demonstrate academic ability with a minimum 3.25 grade point average.
• Demonstrate positive attitude toward school and community.
• Financial need shall be a factor in the selection process. (please devote one paragraph of your essay to stating your case for financial need)
