The fun-loving and artistic legacy of Mt. Pleasant's Kristopher Walden will live on through a new scholarship fund created for local high school graduates with a passion for the fine arts. Walden, or "Waldo" to friends and family, graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1979 before attending Central Michigan University. A highly-talented artist, he spent 25 years working as an illustrator and graphic artist. However, his true passion was the fine arts, particularly detailed drawing and painting. He was forever fun loving, and brought great joy to everyone. He was also a very kind person, and enjoyed helping others, especially those challenged by age or disability. Kris died in May 2007 in Newport Beach, California where he lived. He was 45 years old. |
