The Maness Family Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship to a graduating senior from Mt. Pleasant Oasis High School who plans to attend an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Priority will be given to a student who has demonstrated evidence of perseverance in overcoming obstacles to success.

2008 Scholarship Award: $1,000

Eligibility Criteria: 

• Student must be a graduating senior from Mt. Pleasant Oasis High School.
• Student must be continuing his or her education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school.
• Student must include teacher recommendations and evidence of progress toward specific academic goals.

Preferences:

• Priority will be given to a student who demonstrates evidence of perseverance in overcoming obstacles to success as expressed in the written essay.

Essay should be 150-200 words long and describe educational, career, and personal goals, and explain how this award will help them attain these goals
