The Arnold & Margaret Sowmick Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to benefit the education and development of Native American youth and other youth of the community who are emulating the leadership skills associated with Arnold & Margaret Sowmick.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The scholarship is available for a FEMALE student in 2008. (The scholarship recipient alternates each year between male and female).
  • Have an interest in pursuing higher education (including technical or vocational school.)
  • Have maintained a 2.0 minimum grade point average.
  • Be a graduating senior from Isabella County area schools.

Preference:

  • Will be given to a resident Native American in Isabella County – (other non-Native residents are encouraged to apply).
  • Will be given to applicants exhibiting qualities of civic leadership.
