Jeffrey Ray Vernon was born with a complex heart defect and yet he became an example of perseverance, living with a handicap which he did not allow to slow him down. Not expected to live past his 18th birthday, Jeff graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, excelling in his broadcasting class. He continued his education at Central Michigan University where he graduated in 1990 with a major in broadcast and Cinematic Arts. Following college, Jeff was employed by TV 9 & 10 in Cadillac, and later as news director and producer at a station in Norfolk, Virginia. He passed away at the age of 33 while awaiting a heart transplant. |
