Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation

For good. For ever.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

 Carol and Jim Wojcik Fund

The Carol and Jim Wojcik Fund was created to support the community. It is set up to allow the Foundation grants committee and Board to determine the best use of its annual earnings to address local needs.

Jim and Carol met at Central Michigan University, in what was then known as the Robinson Food Commons. They eventually married and have lived in Mt Pleasant their entire marriage. Their two adult sons also are CMU alumni.

Jim has worked for CMU for more than 50 years. He was director of student media for 30 years before becoming associate professor of journalism, a role he has filled for more than 20 years. Jim serves on the board of Sacred Heart Academy and Isabella Citizens for Health, and previously was on the board for United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties. Carol is a member of the Foundation's scholarship committee and the Woodland Hospice board. Jim and Carol say this new fund is their way of saying thank you to the community for being so welcoming and treating their family so well.
