Cindy E. Hales Fund

Cindy Hales was a fixture in the Mt. Pleasant community for nearly two decades. Thanks to her generosity, the Cindy E. Hales Fund will now be coming to fruition. Currently Cindy serves as the Director of Community Investment at the Capital Regional Community Foundation in Lansing and is responsible for most of the Foundation’s grantmaking. Having served on our board during her time in Mt. Pleasant, and active both personally and professionally, she believes the community foundation was the right vehicle for her fund to best support a community she holds near and dear. Cindy’s hope is that her fund can provide resources to non-profits in the area working to meet needs as they arise.

Although she no longer lives in the Mt. Pleasant area, Cindy’s commitment to the community remains strong.  She is a proud Chippewa, earning her masters and doctorate from CMU, and she very much enjoys teaching a course there in nonprofit administration.  Cindy is passionate about sharing her experiences with others and helping them to succeed.   In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her garden, traveling with friends, or curling up with a great book.
