John Petras and Laura Gourlay Scholarship Fund

Established in November 2025, the John Petras and Laura Gourlay Scholarship Fund was created to provide scholarship(s) to Isabella County graduates or GED recipients.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

• Be a graduate or graduating senior from an Isabella County high school, or have received their GED in Isabella County.

• Plans to attend an accredited college, university or trade school.

• Demonstrates financial need.

Preferences:

• Student has been in, or is currently in foster care.

• Student has personally overcome an adverse childhood experience (ACES), as described in the applicant’s written statement.
