Dr. Thomas “Doc” Keating, a native of Saginaw, Michigan, lived near and attended St. Mary's Cathedral school from the 1st thru the 12th grade, graduating as the valedictorian of his class. He received an AB degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and an MD degree from University of Michigan. His residency at University of Michigan Hospital was interrupted by a 2-year stint in the United States Air Force. He returned to University of Michigan Hospital to complete an orthopedic residency. He began the practice of orthopedics in Mt. Pleasant in 1975. Doc is a member of multiple medical societies. In 2007, he received an honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Central Michigan University.

Jayne grew up in Holly, Michigan and attended Adelphian Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school through the 12th grade. She graduated from Andrews University and trained as a Registered Nurse at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. She moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1974 and began work as an operating room nurse at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Since 1990, she has worked in orthopedic sales for DePuy-Synthes.

Doc and Jayne were married in 2000. Together they have 4 sons. They are proud of each. Daniel is a graduate of Michigan State University and Georgetown Law School. He practices in Washington, DC and lives in McLean, VA with his wife, Anne, and four children: Jake, Sadie, Cole and Rory. Kevin is a Michigan State University graduate and is a realtor in Mt. Pleasant. He has one son, Brendan, who lives in Ann Arbor. Sean graduated from Georgetown University and is a doctoral student at the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Colleen, have one son, Pierce. Gavin is deceased. He and his wife, Soo, were graduates of Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia. Soo is head pastry chef at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort.

Doc and Jayne enjoy spending time with family, friends and grandchildren. They love traveling and, especially, their hobby and passion: the Keating Horse Farm.
