For good. For ever.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

The Linda K. Dielman Early Childhood Literacy Fund

The Linda K. Dielman Early Childhood Literacy Fund was established in 2023 by the members of NABET-CWA Local 54412, in memory of their past President and longtime Mount Pleasant resident, Linda K. Dielman.

Linda worked for over 40 years at WCMU Public Media, serving in many roles related to marketing, public relations, programming, grants and outreach. Linda also served as the elected President of NABET-CWA Local 54412 for 35 years prior to her retirement.

Linda studied broadcasting at Central Michigan University, and raised her two children, James Russell Dale III and Jennifer Lynn Shamlin, in the Mount Pleasant community. Linda loved spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her mother, and her siblings. She was active in several organizations, including the Zonta Club of Mount Pleasant. Linda was especially passionate about childhood literacy and led many literacy projects over her long career.

The Linda K. Dielman Early Childhood Literacy Fund was created to continue Linda’s work in support of early childhood literacy efforts, primarily in Isabella County, but also in other counties in WCMU Public Media’s service area. The members of NABET-CWA Local 54412, which represents the employees of WCMU Public Media, are committed to keeping Linda’s memory alive by supporting the Linda K. Dielman Early Childhood Literacy Fund and advocating for literacy efforts in central and northern Michigan.
