Bill Lorenz Jr. Trade School Fund

As a devoted business owner in the Mt. Pleasant Community for over 32 years, William “Bill” Lorenz, Jr. was unique in his relationships with his customers.  He labored hard and stood by his work as he serviced generations of “family”.  Bill owned and operated United Floor Covering Inc. of Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to possessing the skills necessary for his flooring business, Bill loved woodworking and building custom furniture pieces. Bill and his wife, Mary, were married on March 1st, 1990, in Las Vegas. Bill has two daughters and one grandson. Bill enjoyed his family and friends, the outdoors, and his community.

Bill had many passions in his lifetime. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the NRA, the Home Builders Association, the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, and a lifelong sponsor of the Mt. Pleasant Little League. Bill enjoyed a great scotch and playing frisbee with his beloved dog, Dude. Bill passed away in August of 2022.

The Bill Lorenz Trade School Fund was created by his wife, Mary,  with the purpose of supporting the efforts of organizations in Clare, Gratiot, and Isabella Counties to provide education and training related to skilled trades.
