Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation

For good. For ever.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

Thomas A. Wittkopp Fund

When he approached the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation about establishing a fund to help fellow community members, Thomas Wittkopp wanted to focus on health care and wellness but was intrigued by the breadth of a Community Impact Fund.

The Thomas A. Wittkopp Fund, established in November 2021, may likely address health care and wellness but is designed to help those faced with any unforeseen circumstances.

“Donations have the most impact on community needs in situations that are often unforeseen,” Wittkopp said. “The COVID epidemic is a great example; we never foresaw COVID until it hit us, then everyone had to gear up and many needed assistance.

Wittkopp’s community impact fund makes grants to charitable programs, services or projects that help address the ever-changing needs of Isabella County residents.

“This fund is spread across several community services and can help people of all ages,” he said.

Wittkopp resides in Crystal, Michigan, in Montcalm County, but worked in Isabella County for several years. His support extends across the two counties and will soon expand into Gratiot County as well, where he also lived and worked.
