Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation Awards $227,025 in Scholarships to Local Students
The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation (MPACF) announced its 2026 Scholarship Award recipients today. There were 123 Scholarship Awards this year given to local students, totaling $227,025 in support. This year’s recipients will be celebrated during a Scholarship Celebration reception on June 1.
“We’re grateful to have awarded over one million dollars in scholarships over the last decade,” said Liz Conway, CEO/COO of MPACF.
The endowment funds generating these scholarships were established by individuals, businesses, and organizations to help local students pursue their educational goals. Each scholarship is unique and reflects the values and interests of those who established it. Most of the scholarships support high school students planning to attend an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall.
“We couldn’t provide this support to local students without the generous support of our volunteer scholarship reviewers. There were 173 volunteers this year, who reviewed more than 1,500 scholarship applications,” said MPACF Program Officer, Jaimie Capen-Cascaddan. “We also thank the aspiring students who took the time to apply and the countless community partners who make these scholarships possible every year.”
